Re: Can you add sounds to Celestia?
Hi. Being a high school science teacher, I was particularly interested in educational improvements, and many years ago my very kind friend Vincent Giangiulio created a 1.5.1, then a 1.6 and finally a 1.6.1 version of Celestia, incorporating the visibility of the images, and the possibility to play e...

Re: Celestia Fan-Made Trailer
Very nice, well done.
Just a little suggestion: given the high quality of this work, I would suggest you to chenge the texture of the liliac planet visible at 2:04 to 2:11, that's really terrible, at least IMHO.
Bye.

Re: Celestia 1.7.0 Development Thread
Hi onetwothree.
You are right, it's needed a double minus, and I knew it, but I gave a quick look to the command line and it looked me as a double minus, but it was not.
Now it works, sorry, my fault, I apologize.

Hi. I use Cartrite's celestia setup from his 1018by cartrite » 17.06.2021, 17:46 (thanks a lot!), and it looks to work with no problems. The only I found is when trying to launch fullscale screen using this command line: "C:\CELESTIA\Celestia-1.7.0-Delta\celestia-win.exe" –fullscreen it gi...

Re: Celestia 1.7.0 Development Thread
Thank you onetwothree, as I supposed. Don't know if you are aware that many years ago Vincent Giangiulio prepared a special Celestia 1.6.1 edition, that was including the capability to use sounds in cel/celx scripts. It works very well, its only drawback is that it can use .wav files only, no...

Hi.
I installed Cartrite's version, and it works for me.
Now I'm trying as many checks as I can, and found a problem:
the Ctrl+V command (to cycle the renderpath) is not working for me.

Hi Cartrite.
If I don't mistake that should be your wonderful Vallis Marineris model, that I should have somewhere in my Celestia backups, is it that one?

Hi.
One, present from Celestia beginning, it the very poor rendering of far stars.
None of the three options gives a realistic appearance of them.

Re: Unsatisfied with the appearance of gstars in Celestia (1.6.2.2 and earlier)
Thanks you both, I had some doubt about atmospheric glow, but the scaled disks information solved the problem perfectly, as you can see in the following image: My-gstar-scaled-disks.jpg This means that easily and quikly I can change Sun image appearance just inserting in script the starstyle setting...

Thank you for the astronomy lesson, Eric, but it's useless, given I'm a teacher.
But my question remains the same and, alas, unreplied and so unresolved.
I repeast it, just to be clear (I hope):
why the texture in my first post shows so differently in Celestia?
Bye.

Re: Unsatisfied with the appearance of gstars in Celestia (1.6.2.2 and earlier)
Thank you, but you misundertstood my question, surely my fault due to my poor English. I'm not searching for other gstar textures (better or worst), and I'm not worrying of pole pinch (I know how to remove it, and I'll do,later on), I'm pretty satisfied with my image (it's a matter of taste, you kno...

Unsatisfied with the appearance of gstars in Celestia (1.6.2.2 and earlier)
Hi. I never liked how gstars were shown in Celestia, so I tried to make a new texture, using real Sun images and Pshop filter gallery, in the search of a way to show granulation and spots. This is the 2k result, reduced to 1k to show it here, and I was satisfied of it. I suggest you to open the image...

Re: any colored textures for mars' moons
Hi.
There are a lot of color images of Mars moons, in color, Phobos in a light magenta-pink color, and Deimos a bit yellowish.
I think you should modify your texture color from grey to something close to the real ones.

Re: Star cluster
Hi Dalibor. I really love your work, these globulars are the best I have ever seen in Celestia. Just a little doubt: in my opinion, the first two images are too much round shaped, I mean the external distribution in not decreasing in the right way, so these clusters are too much like a "ball fi...

Hi Pluto.
I have it and the docs about its use, that I zipped in a 35 MB .rar file.
Can I upload it here?
Otherwise I have to try a different way.
