Re: too many addons in Celestia : one solution

Celestia has a --conf parameter to point to a specific configuration file. As our good friend gironde points out, the extras file structure and the configuration entry ExtrasDirectories can be modified. I have several .cfg files, each one only includes the objects of interest I want to see. For my o...

Re: Project Sisyphus - Texturing/painting every exoplanet known

@Galaxy-Leaper. May I point to one minor issue with your ssc code?

There's typographical error with CloudShadowDepht. It should be CloudShadowDepth

Other than that, it is stellar work.

Re: Quick and dirty add-on for HD 110067

Thanks for taking the time to catch my errors, Sirius_Alpha. It seems my code was a lot more dirty than it was quick.
The ssc has been updated to include your contributions.
Cheers.

Re: Quick and dirty add-on for HD 110067

I caught an error for planet c. The planet radius was erroneously in km, not earth radii. This impacted the atmosphere height parameter as well since my script uses a fraction of the planet radius as a rough estimate of atmospheric height. I am working on updating that as well. The scc code has been...

Slushball Earth

An old add-on from 2015 which was never submitted to the Motherlode site. I hope you find it worthwhile. SlushballEarthCelestia.png This Add-on is based upon the an alternative hypothesis developed by American geologist Richard Cowen to the disputed theory of Global Glaciation or "Snowball Eart...

Re: Help to make a (fairy complex) planetary system from scratch

If you are using the windows based version, you may want to check in Celestia\extras\data\cc_Stars\cc_MultipleSystems\cc_Castor\cc_Castor.stc The original add-on was created by Phil Batchelor in 2008. You will find the code for the six star system of Castor (alf Gem). This really helped me understan...

Re: space station(s)-Tiangong 2

I cannot be certain of how precise the orbital parameters are, but here's what I'm using for Tiangong 2: "Tiangong 2" "Sol/Earth" { Class "spacecraft" Mesh "tiangong.3ds" NormalizeMesh false MeshScale 0.001 Radius 0.0052 # Semi-Length Beginning "2015 9 15...
